In the past few years, updates were published regarding recommendations for transporting dangerous goods, including lithium-ion batteries. As a result, the transport options have been reduced. According to IATA, the batteries transported by aircrafts must follow the strict requirements of UN 38.3 Standards. These standards involves testing the batteries under various conditions that can occur during air transportation, such as changes in temperature, pressure, and crushing. These tests are designed to ensure that the batteries are safe for this kind of transportation and do not pose a risk to the passengers of the plane.
